"My painting is born from an intuitive calling — sometimes quiet, sometimes urgent, as if my hands knew before my mind that it was time to paint."

I am Cida Moraes, a Brazilian contemporary abstract artist based in Germany.

For me, art is a way of existing without the need to arrive at an answer. It is also a way of traveling without changing places. In my paintings, I bring together what I observe: inner landscapes, memories, emotions, and possibilities that do not need to follow a fixed logic.

My painting begins with an intuitive impulse and with the desire to transform emotions, memories, and inner landscapes into color, movement, and texture.

I bring to the canvas what I encounter on my travels: the movement of water, the lightness of mountains, the life of nature, the strength of Brazilian landscapes, and my own memories. Nothing appears literally. Everything reveals itself through free gestures, palette-knife layers, and colors that emerge in the moment

I do not seek perfection. I trust the unexpected and what cannot be controlled. Each work is a discovery, a dialogue between what I feel, imagine, and make visible while painting.

For me, art is a space where consciousness expands. When the gaze slows down, imagination opens, and new ways of perceiving the world begin to emerge.
